Buy a JC Hero’s Island Brick

Thanks to the efforts of past ONNI Board members Dennis Johns and Teri Jory, the Jon Gathercole Hero’s Island located at the corner of Cliff Drive and Meigs Road, is looking good.  This strip of land went from ugly concrete to a landscaped xeriscape thanks to a fundraising campaign and your donations to OMNI.  The string lights on the four trees brighten the area beautifully and the plants are being maintained and taking hold. Board Member Dave Tennen does a much needed weekly “clean up” of the trash in the area and Alice Andres-Calleja continues to maintain the potted plants along the sidewalk. The remaining component of the project, boulders and bricks with plaques acknowledging sponsors and donors, has been completed! If you would like to support OMNI projects and activities, JC Hero Island Bricks, engraved with your name and message, can be purchased for $500/brick and added to the Island.
