December Column

Dear Amazing Community!

Wishing you peace, joy, and health this holiday season and throughout 2021!

Thank you for all that you do in supporting the Mesa community – you are truly appreciated and couldn’t make it happen without you!!

The Jon Gathercole Heroes Island

Organic Greens will be breaking ground some time in December and the goal is to have the beautiful self-sustaining garden completed by January 15th. OMNI and Mesa Architects are still working on the plaques for those who have donated $1,000 or more, and continue welcoming donations (https://www.ourmesaneighborhoodinc.org/cliff-drive-island). This will be an on-going project because we need to pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the beautiful Jon Gathercole Heroes Island that our community so selflessly funded - Gratitude forever.

Please tune-in to the OMNI website and facebook for updates on the progress.

Mesa Promenade - Sneak Peak at the Next Project

The Jon Gathercole Heroes Island which is named after Island View neighbor Claude Raffin’s late partner of 40 years, and donated to all the Mesa Heroes *our firefighters, grocery store, drug store, restaurant, and all the essential workers*  who during CoVid-19 came to work everyday while the “sheltering in place” orders were in place risking their health so neighbors could have their necessities – is just the beginning. We want to continue making the Mesa an amazing place to live, study, work, or just hang out on the future Mesa promenade. Take a look at the before and after photos and let me know what you think.

Art Renaissance on the Mesa: Traffic Box Utility Art

Artist Carissa Luminess will be showcasing her artwork on the next traffic utility box on Cliff Drive and Mesa Lane. This traffic utility box is on the way to Mesa Lane Steps Beach and Douglas Preserve. A busy spot for many to enjoy OMNI’s Art Renaissance on the Mesa. We look forward to showcasing all our local artists on a future traffic utility box – there are many to cover.

With much gratitude for your support in helping to make the Mesa a great neighborhood to live, study, work, or just hang out. Our Mesa neighborhood welcomes all!

Stay Strong! Teri
